MEDICAL RECORDS AND BIOSTATISTICS

The above named department is the gateway to this Health Institution. With a staff strength of 24 ( 2 are officers and 22 others are assistants), it is a service department that runs for 24 hours daily. The department has 2 major sections i.e. out-patient and in-patient with several sub-sections. The major sections are given below.

Out-Patient Section Functions

Registration of new and old patients at the General outpatient and Accident & Emergency department.

Filing and retrieving of treatment cards and folders Registration, booking of appointments, retrieving and filing of case notes at all the outpatient consultant clinics in the Hospital.

Compilation and preparation of Combine Medical Form 12 (C.M.F 12).

In-Patient-Function

Collection, Collation, Analysing and interpreting of data.

Up-dating admissions and discharges.

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statistical returns to the Board Secretariat i.e. all activities performed on the patient and hospital equipments.

NEEDS
Computering the department for efficiency

Re-training and updating the skills of departmental staff.
